Three small ideas worth building. Every week.
Sparkspec finds real frustrations people keep posting about on Reddit, X and forums, then turns three of them into small app ideas. Each one comes with a one-page spec and a paste-ready vibe coding prompt, so you can go from idea to working build in a day.

Ideas that start with a real problem
Every idea begins with a complaint people raise again and again. No "Uber for X" brainstorms. If nobody is annoyed, we do not send it.
Small enough to finish
Each spec is scoped for a one day build by one person: clear features, a suggested stack, and a list of what to leave out so you actually ship.
Prompts you can paste straight in
Every idea includes a prompt written for AI coding tools like Cursor, Claude Code, Bolt or Lovable. Paste it, review the output, start building.
How it works
1. We listen
We read recurring complaints across Reddit, X, Hacker News and niche forums.
2. We filter
We keep problems that are specific, repeated and solvable with a small app.
3. We spec
Who it is for, features, stack, out of scope and a one day build plan.
4. You build
Paste the prompt into your coding tool of choice and get going.
A peek inside an issue
Sample content: these ideas are illustrative examples that show our format. They are not quotes from real posts and contain no real statistics.
TrialTrap
A local-first free trial tracker. Problem: people forget trials and get charged, and most trackers want bank access. Stack: Vite, React, IndexedDB, no backend.
Shiplog
Changelogs from your git commits. Problem: shipping often but never updating a public changelog. Stack: a Node.js CLI with an optional LLM rewrite.
TokenTab
A local spend watcher for AI agent experiments. Problem: runaway loops and surprise API bills. Stack: Python, FastAPI, SQLite.

FAQ
Are the ideas actually validated?
Validated in the sense that matters early on: the problem shows up repeatedly in public discussion. We do not promise demand or revenue. Talk to users before you invest heavily.
Do I need to be a developer?
It helps, but no. The prompts are written so tools like Cursor, Bolt or Lovable can do most of the heavy lifting. You will need to read the output and test it.
Can I build and sell an idea from Sparkspec?
Yes. Ideas are not exclusive, so others may build the same thing. Execution, niche and distribution decide who wins.
Why the focus on self-sovereignty?
Many readers want tools they own: local-first, self-hostable, no tracking, data export by default. Where it fits, our specs lean that way.
What do I get in a Spec Pack?
Ten themed ideas, each with a full spec and prompt, in a single download (Markdown and PDF). No subscription needed.
